| Miscellaneous | The Colnago Super is a legendary vintage steel road bicycle introduced by Ernesto Colnago in 1968. This particular bike we believe has a 1981 frameset. We have lovingly rebuilt this stunning bike with a mixture of NOS, used and new parts to a very high standard. Key Features & History - Debut Year: Released in 1968 and produced for over 30 years. - Tubing: Built using lightweight Columbus SL steel tubing (with thicker Columbus SP tubing used on larger frame sizes). Later iterations sometimes featured profiled or crimped tubes. - Racing Geometry: Pioneered a more aggressive, compact geometry philosophy- "shortening the wheelbase and steepening the headtube angle- "to improve handling and stiffness. - Iconic Pedigree: Ridden by cycling greats like Eddy Merckx to victories in Grand Tours, Monuments, World Championships, and the Olympics. It was also the first Colnago model to wear the famous Ace of Clubs logo after Michele Dancelli won Milan- "Sanremo in 1970. - Design Details: Recognized by classic round steel tubes, chrome accents, and detailed lug work. |
